The Continuing Adventures of the Irish Rover!

 Hi

Well, the Irish Rover is back up and running!  I took it out for a spin the other day.  What a beautiful day too!  I went to part of the Union Point Grounds that I had never explored.  But you could also just scare yourself thinking that maybe the sound you just heard was a coyote or a fox, or even a  BLACK BEAR!! I think I should bring one of Gene’s walking sticks and maybe an air horn the next time I go for a ride!!

So many ways to get lost!!

There were so many overgrown paths.  It is wonderful that the further you get from traffic, the more you can hear the sounds of the woods.  The falling leaves, pinecones, squirrels running up the trees.  These are the sounds of my childhood.

Choices made in life

Do I take a left or a right?

So today I went for a walk in Pond Meadow Park in Braintree, MA.  Now I grew up in Braintree but never went there.  So today was the day.  Since "the Irish Rover"  ( my etrike) is out of commission for a little bit.  I was hoofing it.  :)  Beautiful place. Paved and unpaved trails.  At one point there came a fork in the road.  Do I go left on the well paved road, or do I go right on an unpaved trail?  Well, I took a right.  The Red trail.  It reminded me of the "woods" my brother, sister and I used to play in.  I walked over the roots and rocks in this well established trail.  Saw beautiful colors of the summer greenery welcoming the fall.  The pond was alive with ducks and birds catching fish.  Then to my surprise, I heard a familiar voice!  I saw a dear friend and her family hiking , coming towards me!  So good to see her!

Choices in life.  If I had taken the easy trail, taken the left, I would not have seen her. I would not have met her niece or have been able to share the pleasure of the trail!

Choices.  One stone cast into the water makes lots of ripples and touches many parts of the water.

Have a great day!  I know I did!
