Jonathan Collins. 1/31/1981 - 1/20/2022

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of my son, Jonathan Collins.  He had been struggling with failing health for some time.

I thought that this might be fitting:

Remember Me

To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,
Remember me.

Remember me in your heart:

Your thoughts, and your memories,

Of the times we loved,

The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone

Cedar Keys

Today , Sunday January 15, 2022, we went for a drive.  We just drove through some back roads and found ourselves passing some  beautiful cattle farms and horse farms.

We continued on for about 20 minutes more and found ourselves in Cedar Keys!  Cute little coast community.

Camping Adventures!

Most of the campgrounds have been wonderful.  Some a little close, some a little buggy.  All but one of them Gene was able to fit the trailer into.  The ONE was a state park, Ochlocknee.  He knew the minute that we approached it, we were in for a failure.  We circled 3 times and there was just no way!  We went to office and told them our tail of woe.  She tried to accomodate  us but they were booked.  She did direct us to the city park about 2 miles away.  $20 a night and the host lives on site.  Hmm. ok, let's check it out!

Before long, we were directed to go down this dark dirt road.  Oh no!  no way!

So what did we do?  We went to Walmart!  2 miles away, parked under a light, did a little shopping and stayed!  As we watched out the locked and bolted window, 3 other bus-like converted hippie busses arrived!

Gives a whole new meaning to " Welcome Walmart Shoppers!"   It was remarkably quiet.  We noticed that a sheriff's car went by quite often!   Sooo, with the first night in "Wally World" under our belts,  we will not hesitate to try it again for just an over night.  Bass Pro welcomes RVs as well as Cracker Barrel!

The adventure continues!!!!!

Dauphin Island pictures from the Pentax Camera

I really do love this camera when it works!  I have been having some difficulty with the lens.  Still learning I guess!  But!  I think these are pretty good. :)

Dauphin Island 2.0

Another wonderful day on Dauphin Island.  Gene wanted to do some fishing and I was going to just sit in the sun and read, but!  The temp was only 45 degrees and was very windy.  We did some window viewing.  I did take some pictures with my Pentax, which I will post later, and then we found a local bar with an incredible view!  Ordered some lunch and just absorbed the local scenery.

Dauphin Island

We went to visit Dauphin Island again today.  Gene fished while I took photos.  On our way back, we went to the Dauphin Island Bird and wildlife Estuary ..  Beautiful.  Walking through the Pine groves.  There were signs posted everywhere to beware of alligators! :)

Some pictures that I took today.

Theodore Alabama

 Homestead RV Community

Lovely place!  This is brand new!  Couple of years old.  We have a water site, there are wooden bench swings hanging from some of the trees around the pond.  Quiet, calm and peaceful!..  We also had a hot tub delivered to the site!  So nice, with the breeze, watching the stars overhead.  :)

We are also about 10 - 20 minutes from Dauphin Island.  What a nice beach community.
