Andersonville and Plains Georgia

 Over the past couple of days we have gone to Plains Georgia, home of Jimmy Carter, Andersonville historic Park, and the Andersonville  POW camp and cemetery for the Union soldiers. 

Andersonville is full of rich history!  Most impressive was the POW cemetery.  

















Our campsite in Andersonville was unique to say the least!.  It had domestic turkeys, quinea hens, chickens, roosters and CATS!  about 7/8 big and little cats!  :(



 


In Plains, Georgia, we saw where the headquarters was, his high school and the small town and Historic Inn which Roselyn Carter decorated each room in a different time period.  Antiques stores, peanut stores (of course) a Roselyn Carter butterfly garden and some quaint swinging chairs in the middle of town
