New Adventures of Elvis & Mingo!

We accepted delivery of your new 3100RD Grand Design Camper in August.  We had ordered it in May and it took about 14 weeks to be built and delivered.   Its name is Elvis & Mingo!  Elvis for Gene and Mingo for me!!

This is the beginning of our cross country life!  Our first adventure was to the Fryeburg Fair in Fryeburg , Maine.  We arrived in the dark and in the rain.  We had help parking in what I would call a parking lot of trailers, campers, RVs and pop ups.  Being close to the fair grounds was such a plus!  There were recurring shuttles back and forth to the fair grounds which really helped at the end of the day.  The weather was great, the foliage was beautiful and our mini condo on wheels was perfect.

I will add some pictures soon.  I am just trying to remember how to do this.    I know that the big thing now is snapchat or instagram but I think I would still like to continue with this.   Really because I do not like the format of the others.  :)

This video is courtesy of my Daughter!  Do you think she was sad!  Nope!!

This is the site/blog that I would like to document our new adventures.  We are going to begin our adventure on November 1 (tentatively).   I will post and show where we are and what we see!

Please feel free to post comments!  :)

Teaching the Next Generation!

Beautiful Sunday Summer Day.

This was the start of the summer vacation for the Beane Girls!  They are our 2 beautiful granddaughters.  They like the big boat somewhat, but they really like the 10 ft inflatable!  Go figure!

When they are 13 years old and have taken a Power Safety course, they can take the inflatable out by themselves! So Papa and Makayla will be taking the course next spring because guess what!  Makayla turns 13 next January!  So the countdown begins!

Papa took each one of them out by themselves to learn the nuances of the motor, steering, waves, speed, etc.  There were happy faces all around!

Even Momma got to get a ride!

From the club we went to raft up with others from the club and did more exploring and practice for the girls in the "No Shoes"

Adventures of the " No Shoes"

I hope I can remember how to do this blog thing!  :)

We have purchased a 10 foot, hard bottom inflatable boat with a 9 hp motor. The grand girls named her the No Shoes.   Monday June 17, 2019 was the maiden voyage for this year,
We packed up a few thing and we were off!  Sunscreen, hats, drinking water, camera!

We decided to explore the Back River in Weymouth.  What a beautiful site!  The water was calm and the air was warm but a little overcast.  Great weather to explore.

This is the view of the entrance to the Back River.

Momma Osprey made sure to warn us that we were too close!  She started yelling at us  :)

This was a sanctuary for White Heron!  Absolutely beautiful!

I did see a Blue Heron but not really a good picture.

Then towards the end of our excursion, a coyote!  We watched him prance around, watching for game and watching us.  Incredible!  He was a big boy too!

Not sure where we will go next but I sure it will be an excellent adventure!  TTFN
