Mississippi , Louisianna

I have not been able to post lately because there has been very weak wifi in the places that we have been. so this may be a long post.  :)

On February 5 2023, we went to Styx River Campground in Robertsdale , Al.  We stayed here for a week.  some of the days were sunny and some of the days were rainy.  We had a really nice view of the river walk and we were up high enough that the rains did not effect us. We did watch the torrents of rain water wash down the roads.  :)

Very quiet place.  We were able to travel from here to other parts of the state. TLC wolf River Resort.

This was up on a bit of a hill overlooking the Wolf River.  The WiFi did not reach us but the rest of the camp had Wifi.  Lots of permanent  residents.  Lots of big rigs coming in but altogether very peaceful and relaxing.   Great place to just walk, sit outside and relax.  We did visit some places in the neighborhood.

First we stopped for lunch!  We stopped at a place called The Shed.  Very eclectic!  :)

Delicious food!   Cajun music playing.  wooden picnic tables!

We were able to travel to Biloxi, Bay St Louis.  The beaches were beautiful.  Plenty of place to pull off the road to enjoy the beach.  They have benches on the walkways and even have community "bonfire pits"  along the beach

This was actually a Harvest Host site to stay over night.  We want to stay here on the way home!  beautiful view of the beach and also some historic information!!

We love traveling!  By going along "the roads less travelled" we get to see what the USA is really about!

Wonderful Adventures

I mentioned that we joined Harvest Host.  So far it has been a wonderful experience.

We have stayed at a horse farm, a lavender farm, county park and a county museum .

after we stayed in Suwanne Farms we when on to explore along the coast .  We ended up in apalachicola for the afternoon and then for the night.

First lunch.

After Lunch we toured the little town of Apalachacola.    We stayed overnight in the city park near the marina.  Lovely view of the boats.

This was very secure and the city police patrolled all night.  Just the sounds of the water lapping against the moorings.  So awesome!

Then we went west towards Panama City.  This morning was very foggy

Harvest Host

So a couple of days ago, we joined an organization called Harvest Host. it has a yearly fee and it allows you to access the app or the web site to locate a site that will allow you to stay overnight on their property.  Some of them are farms, some wineries, some golf courses.  There are also museums, libraries, golf courses, and churches.  What a fantastic idea!

The first night was a a farm.  Suwanee Farm.  It was about 5 acres with horse corals and just open land

Andrew and his collie, Laddie, were the perfect host.  Showed us where to go and told us to feel free to walk the land.
